Day 1: arrival in Kathmandu On your arrival in Kathmandu, one of our representatives from Nepal Hiking Himalaya will be there with a signboard to collect you from the airport to transfer you to your hotel. A tour briefing will be held after you have settled in where you have a chance to ask any questions. In the evening a meal is arranged paid for by us at a traditional local restaurant, a good evening for introductions. Overnight Hotel
Day 2: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing and trek preparation Today soon after breakfast we have the chance to visit many of the important sites of interest and some of the seven World Heritage Sites within the valley including the most important Hindu and Buddhist temples that date back hundreds of years. Many of these sites have some of the finest woodcarving to be found anywhere in the world. In the evening you will meet your Sherpa guide, he will take you through trek preparation and provide you with all the information you need about the trail and the route you are taking. Day 03: Drive to Beni (850m) Duration: 8-9 hrs After an early breakfast we take a scenic drive west to Beni via the beautiful lake town of Pokhara. The drive takes around 8-9 hours. Overnight guesthouse.
Day 04: Trek to Babiachor (950m) Duration: 05 hrs Leaving Beni and Kali Gandaki we trek west along the north bank of the Myagdi Khola to Singa and Tatopani (hot springs). Crossing the bridge beyond the village to the south bank of the river, the trail makes a small loop before we cross another bridge not far from the village of Simalchour,We trek on along the north bank from to the village of Babiachor where we rest up for the night. Overnight camp.
Day 05: Trek to Dharapani (1400m) Duration: 6 hrs The valley widens today with terraced hills on both sides of the river. The trek is fairly level as we trek past the small village of Shahashradhara before crossing the Duk Khola and through some fields to Ratorunga.At this point the valley narrows again and the terraces disappear. We trek onto the village of Dharapani. Overnight camp. Day 06: Trek to Muri (1800m) Duration: 5 hrs Today is quite a tough day after crossing the river we leave Phedi where soon after we begin a steep ascent the trail climbs in earnest with many switch-backs until we reach the ridge where the trail levels out somewhat before another steep climb to the village of Muri. From here we continue trek up to Sibang and Mattim and continue on up an incline to the top of the ridge, we then descend down to the Gatti Khola to reach PhalaiGaon situated at1820meters. We cross the Dhara Khola to once again emerge on the west bank of the Myagdi Khola before climbing a ridge to the fairly large Magar village of Muri. Overnight camp.
Day 07: Trek to Boghara (2080m) Duration: 6 hrs Today is a beautiful day we descend a while, cross a stream and continue on through green terraced fields, we need to climb a ridge to reach the pass from where there is a good view of Mt. Ghustung South (6465 meters). From the ridge the trail leads down to the Myagdi Khola and a trek along its west bank to the village of Naura. A short climb up before traversing a grassy hill and again another climb up a steep slope with switch-backs then a descent through a lovely forest and terraced fields to Boghara where we rest for the night.. Overnight camp.
Day 08: Trek to Dobang (2520m) Duration: 5 hrs Soon after breakfast we leave camp for a gentle walk down through terraced fields to a small ridge, then through a beautiful forest to the village of Jyardan, the most remote permanent settlement in this part. of our journey. From here we need to negotiate a high winding rocky path which then descends before climbing again to a single hut at Lipshi. The trail leads through a forest to Lapche Kharka and then climbs to a level area at Dobang where we camp. Overnigh camp. Day 09: Trek to ChoribanKhola (3110m) Duration: 5 hrs After crossing a wooden bridge out of Dobang we ascend through a forested area. Soon the west face of Dhaulagiri I (8167 meters) fleeting glimpses of this monster can be seen through breaks in the trees. We descend down to the MyagdiKhola and across a wooden bridge to the east bank continuing on to Chartare. From here we enter more forest before cutting across a rocky area and a stream to ChoribanKhola where we rest up.. Overnight camp.
Day 10: Trek to Italian Base Camp (3660m) Duration: 7 hrs Today we follow a trail up to the Chhonbarban Glacier entering the glacier from the right. Tukche Peak (6837 meters) can be seen straight in front of us at the far end while the oppressive north flank of Dhaulagiri I (8167 meters) dominates the skyline to our right. We continue on for a short while to reach Italian Base Camp (3660 meters) where we make camp for the night. This is truly high country, invigorating as the oxygen begins to play with us. To the west are the impressive peaks of Dhaulagiri II (7751meters), Dhaulagiri III (7715 meters) and Dhaulagiri V (7618 meters). Overnight camp.
Day 11: Acclimatization and rest day Today is spent a day acclimatizing as we adjust to the thinning of the air. Essential as the body needs to tune up for the higher altitudes to come. Overnight camp.
Day 12: Trek to Glacier Camp (4210m) Duration: 6 hrs We are up early today to catch the clearer morning air. We must be careful today as the area is prone to stone fall as we pass through a narrow gorge. Overnight camp.
Day 13: Trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4740m) Duration: 7 hrs Today we trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp for an exhilarating feel of high mountain life. The impressive north face of Dhaulagiri I (8167 meters) dominates the skyline to our right. To the west the peaks of Dhaulagiri II (7751meters), Dhaulagiri III (7715 meters) and Dhaulagiri V (7618 meters) are clearly visable. In front of us an impressive icefall descends from the north east col. Overnight camp.
Day 14: Acclimatization and Rest Day Another rest day built in for the acclimatization. The views this are superb and there is plenty to explore during the day. Overnight camp.
Day 15: Cross French Pass (5360m) then trek to Hidden Valley (5200m) Duration: 6 hrs After leaving the glacier we climb up through two terraced hills before cutting across the mountain flank and the glacier moraine then a gentle incline on the left from an ablation valley. A gentle slope leads us to French Pass (5360 meters) and a truly magnificent view ; a great vista opens up in front of us MukutHimal (6328 meters), Tashi Kang (6386 meters) and Sita Chuchura (6611 meters), all of which surround the Hidden Valley. To the south is Tukche Peak (6920 meters) and beyond is the magnificent towering Dhaulagiri I stands serene. . From French Pass we trek along the right edge of the Hidden valley descending a little to Thapa Pass (5250m) situated between Tukche Peak and Thapa Peak (6012m).From the pass we drop a little to make camp at 5200 meters. Day 16: Cross Dhampus Pass (5200m), and trek to Yak Kharka (3680m) Duration: 6 hrs Today we descend from the hidden valley to Dhampus Pass and continue to a lovely camp site at Yak Kharka,. a perfect camp site to enjoy the surroundings. Overnight camp.
Day 17: Trek to Jomsom (2710m) Duration: 5 hrs An downhill day today asd we descend to the picturesque village of Marpha, on the west bank of the Kali Gandaki River. Marpha is home to many apple orchards, there is a brandy distillery nearby where we you can sample. Apple Brandy is a local specialty. We trek north, up the river valley to the town bustling town of Jomsom. Overnight camp. B.L.D
Day 18: Fly to Pokhara (910m) Duration: 20-minutes We are up early for the 20 minute morning flight to Pokhara. On arrival we transfer to our lakeside hotel the rest of the day we are free to explore around; perhaps some boating or just relaxing around the lake in one of the many restaurants. Overnight Hotel.
Day 19: Pokhara to Kathmandu Soon after breakfast we take the scenic drive back to Kathmandu either by private transport or by tourist vehicle depending on group requirements 6 hrs. A farewell meal is arranged in the evening. Overnight Hotel
Day 20: Farewell Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from Nepal Hiking Team will escort you to the airport to wish you a fond farewell and a safe onward journey. With a wish to see you back with us again someday.
